Owners Chris, Tim and Anne opened "The Blue Monk on
Belmont" October 23, 2002 (located between the Belmont
Inn and Zupans in the old "It's a Beautiful Pizza"
location). Tuesday thru Saturday,in our romantic downstairs
jazz club, we feature some of the best live jazz in
Portland. Don't forget to check out our unofficial
Portland Jazz Museum on the walls downstairs. Photos,
posters and memorabilia of Portland's jazz past.
Although The Blue Monk could be just a jazz club,
it is much more. If you are looking for a late night
dinner, this is the place. Dinner is served Tuesday
through Sunday from 5 pm to 1 am. The Blue Monk serves
large portions of east coast Italian food including
Spaghetti and Meatballs (the best in town!), Chicken
Parmesan, Clams & Angel Hair and Vegan Lasagna by
our Chef, Ryan Gengler plus features one of the best
beer menus in the city. On tap you will find beers
like Chimay White, John Courage, Old Engine Oil and
Franziskaner (the original Hefe-weizen recipe). With
over 35 bottled beers you'll find unique ones like
Triple Karmelite, Hitachino Nest Red Ale and Marsdon's
Pedigree. An impressive wine list and a full bar with
specialty cocktails round out your drink choices.
While enjoying drinks or dinner be sure to check out
the art on the walls upstairs featuring local artists.
Great jazz, unique beers and a east coast menu make
this a fun place to hang-but the best part is the
customers it attracts.
